Opal Bold comes from the Mercafe Lotus Farm Cluster in Dalat, located in the central highlands of Vietnam. Coffee has been cultivated in this region since the 1850’s, and has fertile volcanic soil with cool temperatures, perfect for coffee.
This coffee is wet-hulled and sun-dried on raised beds. In this process, the coffee pulp is removed, dried half way, then the parchment is removed. The raised beds help ensure even drying to create a very clean and classic flavor profile looked for in this style of coffee.
Flavor Notes: earthy and spicy, with notes of tobacco. A soft acidity and good body round it out.
